The CSO have released figures on recorded crime in Ireland covering the period from 2003 to 2013 Q2.  Data is available for 14 Crime categories across 28 Garda Divisions and for 12 categories for 579 Garda Stations.

The categories are as follows:

1. Homicide offences

2. Sexual offences

3. Attempts/threats to murder, assaults, harassments

4. Dangerous or negligent acts

5. Kidnapping and related offences

6. Robbery, extortion and hijacking offences

7. Burglary and related offences

8. Theft and related offences

9. Fraud, deception and related offences

10. Controlled drug offences

11. Weapons and Explosives Offences

12. Damage to property and to the environment

13. Public order and other social code offences

15. Offences against government, justice procedures and organisation of crime

Based on this data AIRO has developed a single data viz to allow you to explore this massive volume of data. Filters are in place to allow the user to select data by station, by crime category or by period. This allows the user to analyse specific aspects of the data. Whether it’s identifying the busiest Garda station in the country for burglaries ( Tallaght 956 2012) or identifying the quietest Station in Carlow for public order offences (Ballon, 2, 2012) all of this data is available here to view, explore and download
